U.S.-Sierra Leone Harmony Exchange: Climate Café and Networking Event
On January 3, 2025, we proudly hosted the first U.S.-Sierra Leone Harmony Exchange program cohort at Bush Garden in Bo, Sierra Leone. This remarkable event was made possible through the support of the U.S. Embassy in Freetown under the Public Diplomacy Small Grant Program. The day’s highlight was a Climate Café and Networking session to inspire collaboration, cultural exchange, and innovative solutions to climate change and community resilience.
Led by our Project Lead, Allieu Christopher Moiwa, the program brought together young changemakers to engage in meaningful dialogue and establish global connections. In his opening remarks, Christopher commended participants for their dedication to tackling climate challenges and emphasized that this Exchange is a unique platform for leaders from Sierra Leone and the United States to learn from each other.

The program, running until June 2025, will feature monthly virtual sessions where participants discuss shared challenges and opportunities in climate action and sustainable development. We are excited to see how these exchanges inspire new ideas and foster cross-border collaboration.
We were honored to host dynamic speakers from leading organizations in Sierra Leone who shared their professional experiences in climate action, leadership, and environmental stewardship. Their insights laid the foundation for partnerships to drive impactful and lasting change.
This event begins a movement to bridge cultures, build networks, and create a shared vision for a sustainable future.
